Dr. Laura Kleiman, Founder and CEO of Reboot Rx, talked about the tremendous opportunities in drug repurposing for cancer in her keynote session titled “Unlocking Access to Cancer Care with Repurposed Generic Drugs and AI” at ASPET 2025.

Community Service



Twenty-five ASPET attendees volunteered to help at the annual community service project during ASPET 2025. This year, they visited Transition Projects, a non-profit organization that helps transition people from homelessness into housing in the Portland metropolitan area.
Opening Session

The Opening Session speaker, Dr. Tamer Coskun of Eli Lilly discussed pharmacological development of tirzepatide and retatrutide from early discovery to clinical outcomes. The opening was hosted by ASPET President Carol Beck and attendees were welcomed to Portland by Desiree Everett, Vice President of Convention Sales & Services at Travel Portland.



Poster Sessions

Daily poster competitions were held for early-career scientists to present their latest research, where they met and talked with judges and other attendees interested in their work.


The Loft at 5th Avenue

Portland may boast about its weirdness, but on opening night attendees got an opportunity to mingle, network and enjoy an atmosphere of food and fun with some of Portland’s gnomes! #StayWeirdPortland
