Professor Des Richardson Recognized for Leadership
Professor Des Richardson from Griffith University, Queensland, Australia, was awarded for his long-standing leadership (since 2006) as President of the International Society of Chelators and Metals at the International Conference on Oncology and Anticancer Research. This is the only formal award presented during the 31-year history of the conference. His laboratory also announced the completion and conferral of five PhD scholars this year, with two students being awarded a prize from the University for a PhD thesis without corrections, and the remainder with minor corrections from one examiner. Professor Richardson stated, “I am really very pleased with these excellent results! Our students have worked exceptionally hard and have been awarded brilliant outcomes.”
Professor Richardson serves as a member of the ASPET Executive Committee for the Division of Cancer Pharmacology and the Mentoring and Career Development Committee. He is also an Associate Editor for Pharmacological Reviews.
